Rachael told me today that she saw Tom and his dad, both of whom I've had difficult relationships with this past year, riding down the street on their bikes the other day. She said hello and Tom was surprised yet excited to see her.
The image of the two of them riding their bikes together, even though it was without helmets, brought up quite an unexpected feeling in me.
I actually miss him.
The kids are coming back on Friday for our family picnic. I'm not ready to teach but I am excited to see all of them again.
