An Italian dinner with red wine and "grape juice".
Conversation of old friends.
Celebrating the end of a year and the beginning of another. Together.
A bit of a respite from the fast-pace world after graduation.
The loneliness of transition stilled.
3AM. Curled on the couches. No one wanted to leave.
If only we could freeze the moment in time and enjoy the comfort and joy of being together forever. Whatever happened to the Friends' Apartment?
But Jesus calls and sends us out into the world to bring His Kingdom and His healing.
And, alas, it was time.
Time for the new year to begin.
Time for joys, sorrows, successes, disappointments, and adventures yet unseen.
The last hug, the door shuts. The couches are empty and only memories are left.
Memories of the night and memories of the nights going 4 years back.
No one knows what the year holds, but past memories only speak of God's faithfulness.
Memories that send me into the year in confidence.
Confident and hopeful of all that God might do this year.
In me. In us. In the worlds that He sends us into.
