Symbolism Gone Too Far

We have our student-led parent conferences this week. Tom came in with his mom and showed her some of the work that he was really proud of and then we discussed goals to help him reach his 5th grade benchmarks. Tom showed his mom a math test where he only missed one question.

"What do you think you did differently on this one question that you got wrong than on the ones you got right?" Mom inquired.

"Well, there were two roads I could take. I thought about it and I decided to take the grassy one - the one that not many other people have taken."

Priceless.
