Two fourth grade girls approached Rachael and asked if they could start a reading club. In the middle of after school rush hour, Rachael sent them off with the task of writing and submitting a proposal.
With no idea what it meant to write a proposal here is what the girls came up with (the italics are my comments):
Reading Club Supplies
1. little sandwiches (ham and turkey only) these are the must haves
2. drinks in case we get thirsty after the sandwiches
3. chapter books i guess we'll need these too
4. pure girls pure
5. a quiet room (probably not too big)
6. relaxing music
7. chairs
8. 3 boys ok, maybe we can take 3 boys. but no more than 3. we can't handle that right now.
9. summary writing paper (lined) their teachers have taught them well
What kids will come up with when not given much direction... And the priorities on their list...
